We are currently hiring experienced Construction Safety Officers (CSOs) for temporary assignments on construction sites. The CSO will be responsible for promoting and enforcing a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and supporting site teams in maintaining high safety standards.

Responsibilities:

Monitor job sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Conduct regular site inspections and hazard assessments
Identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions
Lead and document toolbox talks and safety meetings
Ensure all workers are following proper safety procedures and wearing required PPE
Maintain safety documentation, reports, and incident records
Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, and provide recommendations
Coordinate with site supervisors and management on safety matters
Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and other applicable regulations

Requirements:

Valid Construction Safety Officer (CSO) certification (required)
Previous experience as a CSO on construction sites
Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and procedures
Experience conducting site inspections and safety audits
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to enforce safety standards in a professional manner
Proficient in completing safety reports and documentation
Valid First Aid certification (preferred or required depending on site)
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Steel-toe boots and required PPE
Reliable transportation to various job sites

Work Conditions:

Temporary and on-call assignments
Outdoor work in various weather conditions
Active construction environments with potential hazards
Day shifts, with occasional overtime

Compensation:

Competitive hourly wage based on experience and certification
Weekly pay
